A blind tee shot makes this what may seem to first time visitors a daunting hole but walking over the ridge to see your ball in the middle of the fairway with a short approach iron and you’ll realise why members view this as definite birdie opportunity.

With the picturesque Inch island firmly in your sights, it’ll be difficult to focus on hitting your drive on this hole. The green has no bunkers but is bordered by the fourth fairway and a drop of 4 feet so stay left by all accounts on your approach to the green.

One of the North West's memorable holes and a favourite amongst most members, get it onto the green and you have a realistic chance of birdie, miss the target however and this hole could catch you out.

In competition play you’re never sure of a good round until you’ve stepped off the 17th green. A dog-leg left, this is a test for any golfers course management abilities. Longer hitters will go over the corner to leave a short approach but pull it left and you’ll have trouble finding it.

The one negative feature of this hole is that it’s the last one of the round. Short drives off the tee will reach the fairway but the second shot needs to be mindful of the mid-fairway bunker that forces a choice – short or over it? The green is relatively flat but is guarded by bunkers on both sides.
