Conquer Cancer Mixed Foursomes -Results 30 August 2010

The conquer Cancer Open Mixed Foursomes took place on Friday 20th August. Weather conditions were challenging and this was reflected in the scoring.

Congratulations to our ladies who have reached the final of the Maire O'Donnell inter club betterball matchplay. They beat Letterkenny in a very tense semi final match and will meet either Dunfanaghy or Portsalon in the final next month.

Lady Presidents Prize- Results 30 August 2010

Wed. 18th August was Lady President's Day - Mrs. Una Van Dessel hosted her big day and 50 ladies played to win her beautiful prizes. One of the highlights of the day was a hole in one for Sarah Power at the 13th hole. This was witnessed by her playing partners, Veronica Burke and Ann Hume. Michelle O'Sullivan deservedly romped home to victory with a fantastic 41 pts as she has been showing form in recent weeks.

2nd Win for Paula 12 August 2010

The Men's Cup was played for on Wednesday in very windy conditions but for the second week in a row this proved to be no problem for our winner, playing in only her second big competition Paula McGrory  returned a great score of 71nett.    

1st- Paula McGrory (31)    71 nett  

2nd-Roisin Williamson (14)  74 nett  

3rd -Roisin Timoney     (15)  77 nett.    

Next Wednesday the ladies of North West play for Mrs Una Van Dessel's Presidents Prize. Times can be booked on time sheet in the shop.

Paula wins M.S Open at North West 06 August 2010

On Wed. 4th August the North West hosted an Open Charity for Multiple Sclerosis which was sponsored by The Sandwich Company.
Weather conditions proved difficult for most except for one young promising juvenile, Paula McGrory, playing in her first big competition. In second place was the very talented Joanne Harkin, who continues to play to a very high standard every week.

Joanne reaches single figures 29 July 2010

On Wed. 28th July, N.W. ladies played for the Inishowen Cup. Joanne Harkin continued her brilliant run of results this season with a score of 71 nett. Joanne is now down to single figures playing off 9. In second place was Bernie Coyle (24) 72 and third was Marian Scheel (20) 75.
This week N.W. played Ballybofey in the Maire O'Donnell Betterball Matchplay and gained the vital 4 matches they needed to go through to the semi final where they will meet either Greencastle or Letterkenny. The North West League Team is also enjoying a good run of results - they meet Redcastle next month.


Wed. 4th August is an Open sponsored by The Sandwich Company - the format is 18 holes stableford and there is a 9 hole competition for Men.
